Ambassador of Sweden, Andreas von Beckerath, and Deputy Chief of Mission Mikael Benthe visited Faculty of Languages

10th of October 2023 the new Ambassador of Sweden, Andreas von Beckerath, and Deputy Chief of Mission, Mikael Benthe visited Institute of Scandinavian  and Finnish Studies at the Faculty of Languages. The guests met with Rectors: Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler and Arnold Kłonczyński, Dean Mirosław Przylipiak and lecturers from Institute Scandinavian and Finnish Studies.

The Ambassador emphasised the importance of our Institute’s work in promoting Sweden in Poland. Later the Ambassador met with our students. Andreas von Beckerath said a few words about Swedish foreign policy and Polish-Swedish relations (common positions on the prospect of Ukraine's EU membership, sanctions on Russia and Sweden's NATO membership) and answered students' questions, among other things about AI, immigration and how the Swedes deal with data protection.
